Assalamualaikum, Salam Sejahtera and Kia Ora
Dear all students. Happy new year 2014. Here in New Zealand, we are still in the mood of summer. I believe that most of our students are still enjoying their long break in Malaysia, though towards the end of January, small patches of students are started to come back to New Zealand.
I do hope that we can continue working together in 2014 and strengthen the firm foundation of cohesion built from previous years. Students need to always reset their clear goals. Without distinct goals, it is easy to wander off course. Personal development and achievement need to be attached with common-shared goals. Let's create a global team, where Malaysian students in every region in New Zealand can effectively communicate with each other, and at the same time collaborate with other Malaysian students all around the world. Let's explore opportunities on how student-based societies here in New Zealand can interact with others. Education Malaysia offices / branches are situated in many strategic top world big cities i.e Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Jakarta, Amman, Cairo, London, Washington DC, Chicago and Los Angeles. Having these in our hands, I believe that there's a lot of mutual goals and aspiration that can be work on, and work for. How wonderful would it be should Malaysian students in these countries and cities can contribute towards what's best for students themselves.
As Malaysian students abroad, there's a lot of ways to contribute and effectively heard and positively considered by the policy makers and decision holders back in our own soil. Education Malaysia Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia has launched a platform where voices of future leaders can be strategically placed - the launching of 'Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar Malaysia Luar Negara' or The Malaysian Overseas Students Representatives Council. With this channel, EMNZ highly appreciate this brilliant idea and looking forward to work together with all Malaysian Students-Based Organisations here in New Zealand to fulfil the responsibility of sharing, giving and dedicating new ideas and prospect of issues-based solutions to our beloved Malaysia.
2014, I believe, is a global team year.
